Welcome to #HumanTraffickingAwarenessMonth

The month of January has been declared Human Trafficking Awareness Month. Over the last couple of years we have had the pleasure of working with a number of incredible organizations who are fighting human trafficking globally, making t-shirts and other products to further their causes. Having worked around the globe in a number of developing countries, we have seen the impacts of human trafficking and modern day slavery in very real ways. The first thing to be aware of, is that slavery is a humanitarian crisis impacting upwards of 40 million people in our world TODAY. Secondly, there are really two main ways organizations engage in the fight against it:

    1) Preventative

-- creating programs and initiatives for groups vulnerable to the threat of modern day slavery.

    2) Protective

-- literally rescuing survivors and working to create policy that prosecutes perpetrators.

    3) Rehabilitative

-- working to restore safety and self-efficacy to those who have experienced human trafficking first hand.
Unfortunately, garment manufacturing is known to be one of the main industries linked to modern day slavery because of the vulnerable people groups it employs. However, this also means the clothes we wear can be a tool to FIGHT against these human rights injustices as well. This is how we've viewed our clothing since day one. We have found that it can greatly impact two out of the three main goals in anti-human trafficking work -- Preventative & Rehabilitative. This has lead us to partnering with a number of anti-human trafficking organizations to help them make their merchandise a beneficial part to their mission. Now their clothing is so much more... it is literally fighting human trafficking itself. This creates an even more holistic approach to fighting human trafficking. Below are some of the groups we work with as well as a handful of the custom items we made for them. Support both our efforts by visiting their online stores.
